Cornerstone Group is a commercial roofing contractor working across Greater Manchester, from Trafford Park and Salford to Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton and Wigan. We are based around 30 miles away in Preston, so our own surveyors and roofing teams are on site within the hour.

We repair, refurbish and replace roofs on warehouses, factories, trade units, schools and offices: profiled metal and composite cladding, felt and single-ply flat roofs, liquid systems and planned maintenance.

If a new roof is on the cards, it is the ideal moment to add solar. When we fit the roof and install the solar, both are covered by a single combined 30-year warranty.

Re-roofing a working building

Most of our roofing is on occupied buildings. At Booker Watford we replaced the roof of a trading cash and carry and installed a 334 kWp solar array in one coordinated programme, while the business stayed open.

Asbestos cement roofs

Many of Manchester’s older industrial units still have asbestos cement sheet roofs. We survey them and recommend the right option: over-cladding to seal the roof in place, or safe, compliant removal and a new insulated roof. Read our guide to asbestos cement roof options.

Maintenance that prevents leaks

Blocked gutters, failed laps and brittle rooflights cause most leaks. A planned maintenance visit finds them early, and a simple survey tells you whether you need a repair, a refurbishment or a full re-roof, and what it will cost.

FAQs

Manchester roofing questions answered.

Can't see your question here? Our team is happy to talk it through.

Which parts of Greater Manchester do you cover?

All ten boroughs: Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Tameside, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton and Wigan. We are based in Preston, around 30 miles from central Manchester.

Do you offer free roof surveys?

Yes. We survey commercial and industrial roofs free of charge and give you a clear recommendation: repair, refurbish or replace, with costs.

Can you replace a roof while we keep working?

In most cases, yes. We phase the work, protect the areas below and agree working hours with you. At Booker Watford the cash and carry stayed open throughout.

Our roof is asbestos cement. What are the options?

Either over-clad it, sealing the existing sheets beneath a new insulated roof, or remove it safely and replace it. We survey the roof and explain which suits its condition and your budget.

Can you fit solar at the same time as the new roof?

Yes, and it is usually the most cost-effective time to do it. When we fit the roof and install the solar, both are covered by a single combined 30-year warranty.
