Retail Unit Single-Ply Roof
Surveying a 15,000 m² retail roof first, then overlaying instead of stripping, to get the most new roof for a fixed budget.

The problem
The owner of a 15,000 m² retail unit had leaks and failing rooflights, and wanted to refurbish as much of the roof as possible within a fixed budget. Other contractors had all recommended stripping it back to the metal deck.
The solution
We recommended a moisture mapping survey with core sampling first. It showed that around 90% of the roof was dry and fit to overlay, with most of the trapped moisture in the gutters. We stripped and re-insulated the wet areas, overlaid around half of the roof in a polymeric single-ply membrane and fitted triple-skin GRP rooflights.
The result
A far bigger area of new roof for the same budget, without the cost and disruption of a full strip-off.
