50,000m2 Asbestos Overclad

The problem

The 50,000m2 multi-occupied/tenanted units were suffering from water ingress due to the aged and fragile asbestos roof covering. The units needed to remain occupied and operational throughout any proposed refurbishment works.

The Solution

Cornerstone Group carried out both a visual and drone survey of the roof areas in order to determine the exact condition of the roof area. Through our experience and network of suppliers, we were able to provide the most financially viable option for long-term waterproofing.

The 50,000m2 roof area was refurbished by over-cladding the entire area, along with stripping the existing Georgian wired glazing and installing a new twin-skin translucent system.

All of the units remained occupied during the works with internal safety netting being erected and stripped outside of normal working hours. Tennant liaison was key to the success of the project. The project was delivered to practical completion within a six-month period.

Client Testimonial

Cornerstone Group’s performance on this project was faultless. The communication with tenants enabled the works to be carried out whilst the units remained fully occupied. All of the work was carried out on time and within budget. I would have no problem recommending Cornerstone Group for any future works.
